Sunday 15 October: The Phoenix Singers  
Barock Voices, with tea and cakes. Music by Italian, German and English composers writing in the period 1600 - 1750 and presented in the baroque-built part of the House with its finest and most lavishly decorated rooms. Choral and instrumental music of Handel, J S Bach, Vivaldi, Monteverdi and Purcell feature in the concert; music from Vivaldi's Gloria and a performance of Bach's festive motet, Lobet den Herrn. There are glorious settings for two choirs by the 17th century composers Heinrich Schütz and Michael Praetorius, and more festive music by Purcell, Sweelink, Buxtehude and Monteverdi.  In aid of St Margaret's Hospice

Now We Are Met. Workshop on catches and glees.  Partsongs from the 18th and 19th centuries full of wit and political satire. This will be led by Chris Price, an old friend of DRMS and something of a world expert on this intriguing area of English music.
