New members are most welcome, subject to vacancies and a
voice assessment. Sight reading ability is preferred, but regular attendance and an
eagerness to work hard and learn quickly are more important. We are an enthusiastic, friendly and hardworking team and we enjoy singing a
wide range of choral music, both sacred and secular. |
||
Our repertoire includes both accompanied and unaccompanied music. In addition we have both commissioned and performed new compositions. The choir performs a minimum of three concerts a year, usually in local churches.
Yeovil Chamber Choir rehearses on a Wednesday evening from 19:30 to 21:30 in St Andrew's Church, on the corner of Grove Avenue and Preston Grove in Yeovil.
We
divide the year into three
sessions, in line with the school terms, and we pay a fee of £50 per term, although concessions are available. Members are expected to attend regularly, with the last two rehearsals before a concert being compulsory,
and do some preparation at home. |
||
All new members
have a voice assessment with the Musical Director after attending 2 or 3 rehearsals. We need to be sure that you can sing in tune and that
your voice blends with the rest of the choir. Please download: About Your Audition |
